Situated on the right bank of the Douro River between Régua and Pinhão, Quinta do Crasto is a 135-hectare estate with 74 hectares of vineyards. The property enjoys a privileged location within the Douro Demarcated Region and dates far back in time (the name Crasto comes from the Latin word “castrum” referring to a “Roman fort”).
With an exceptional location perched atop the Douro River lies the famous swimming pool designed by the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. Throughout recent years, the pool has attracted many visitors and national and international news reports.
Here at Quinta do Crasto, we offer a vast range of enotourism activities specially tailored for each guest. Programmes include guided tours with wine tastings as well as the possibility of either lunches or dinners, all of which can be combined with boat trips on the Douro River by way of a partnership with the Pipadouro river tour company. All tours end with a visit to our Wineshop where any of the Quinta do Crasto products can be purchased.
